Callendar Park features a boating lake populated with various water birds,

including mallards, mute swans, coots and occasionally tufted ducks or mandarin

ducks. Mandarin ducks are perching ducks that dabble on the surface, while

tufted ducks are diving ducks that submerge fully to find food. The mallard duck

has a glossy green head and is the most likely duck you’ll see in the park.
